Import Options

On the second step of the Project Merge wizard, you can specify if you want to import objects, such as:

•Keywords (associated with imported topics)

•A-Keywords (associated with imported topics)

•Styles (which are used by imported topics and templates)

Importing Content with Styles

When you import topics or templates from another help project into the current help project, the Project Merge tool allows you to import the styles used by the imported content automatically.

The options below allow you to import content and format it by using styles of the destination help project, apply styles of the source help project, or, if necessary, import content without any styles:

Link imported content to existing styles by names

If the destination help project contains styles with the same names (for example: Heading 1, Heading 2, Normal, etc.), the content which uses these styles in the source help project will be linked to the same styles in the destination help project. As a result, the imported content will be formatted according to the styles of the destination help project.

Overwrite existing styles in the destination project

If imported content uses styles that already exist in the destination help project, the existing styles will be overwritten with the styles from the source help project. This option allows you to update formatting of the destination help project by using the formatting of the source help project.

Import styles used by imported content

If imported content uses styles which do not exist in the destination help project, or linking to the existing styles is disabled by the option above, these styles will be imported as new styles.
