The help topic contains a text variable that references to variable that is not defined in the help project. As a result, such a variable will display an empty string in the compiled help file or document.
To resolve this issue:
1.In the Project Manager, select the appropriate topic for editing.
2.In the word processor, double-click on the problematic text variable object.
3.In the Text Variables dialog, select the variable that you want to use.
4.Click OK.
